Review policy
Last updated:
Reviews only help if they're honest. This policy explains how we ask for reviews of Nightly, what we never do, and how reviews work on the pages we build. It follows UK law on fake reviews in the Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act 2024, and the Competition and Markets Authority's guidance.
How we ask
We haven't started asking for reviews yet. When we do, this is how it will work.
- We ask every customer the same way, at the same moment: one email, 7 days after their first page is ready.
- We ask whether or not we think you're happy. We don't choose who to ask based on what we expect them to say.
- We ask for an honest review, good or bad. We don't suggest what to write or what rating to give.
- We don't ask how happy you are first and then send only happy customers to a review site.
What we never do
- Pay for reviews, or offer discounts, free upgrades, extra builds, prize draws or anything else in return for one.
- Make any discount, such as a founding-client price, depend on leaving a review or on what it says.
- Hide, delay, filter or reorder reviews because of their rating.
- Write reviews ourselves, or ask staff, friends or family to review us.
- Buy reviews, or pay anyone to post them.
- Post reviews of other businesses, including competitors.
- Pressure anyone to change or remove an honest review.
How we handle reviews of Nightly
- If we show reviews on our own site, we'll show a fair picture: not just the best ones, and with each review's date and source. Or we'll link to the full list on the review site.
- We may reply to any review, good or bad.
- We only report a review to the review site if we think it breaks that site's rules, for example because it's fake or abusive, or shares someone's personal details.
Reviews on the pages we build
- A page only shows reviews its owner gives us in their brief. We never add reviews.
- Our checks fail any page that shows a review, rating or other proof the owner didn't give us, and a page that fails can't be published.
- Owners confirm their reviews are real and that they have permission to use them. Our acceptable use policy bans fake reviews, and paid-for reviews that don't say so.
Report a fake review
If you think a review of Nightly is fake, or that a page we built shows fake reviews, email hello@nightlystudio.com or use the page's "Report this page" link. We'll look into it and act on what we find.
This policy applies to everyone who works for or with Nightly.
